Old Ely Ghost Train Water Feature

Ghost Train Water Feature

The town of Ely Nevada has a rich history in the railroad and copper mines of the early twentieth century. Recently, Mike was commissioned to recreate the Ghost Train – ‘Old Number Forty’ as a wall mounted water feature for clients living in that area.

The water feature depicts the engine with all of its depth and character emerging from a hillside. The water flows smoothly down the face of the casing behind the engine, with spotlights shining softly from inside the top. It is a beautiful work of art.

Our clients related that the train hosts a Halloween ride through the canyon. Community members dress up in ghoulish costumes and “Haunt” the ride for travelers. They live at the bottom of the hill, where the train passes by and will be a part of the spooking from their yard. Mike was happy to be a part of this interesting piece of history.
