Zion Nationa Park<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We’re on our way to Zion<\/b><\/a> today to celebrate Mike’s birthday. This is, I think, his favorite place on earth. We live just 40 minutes away, and really don’t take advantage of it often enough. But when we do it is such a refreshing experience. I think the energy from the canyon flows through Mike’s veins when he creates some of the designs he does in copper.<\/div>\n

There is so much to be inspired by in the quiet of the Canyon, the colors of the ancient stones, the integration of human life with wildlife and the effect of nature on both physical and ethereal. No wonder people come from all over the world to encounter it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0We’ve enjoyed the cold water of the Narrows on blistering summer days, and hiked to the overhangs covered with moss and fern dripping with cold water from underground springs. We’ve quietly passed Mule Deer on trails, and watched polywogs swim over our children’s toes, making them giggle. We’ve taken friends and family to Zion to share this beautiful wonder with them, and we’ve spent quiet times alone with just the two of us to celebrate life.<\/div>\n
We’ve been to the canyon when it is thick with green and new life, and other times we’ve seen it blanketed with snow. Rain and thunderstorms are a constant reminder of the power of Nature when the river swells and we have enjoyed the view from safe inside.<\/div>\n

This is a fitting place to celebrate Mike’s big day and it will be nice to relax in Springdale<\/b><\/a>\u00a0where eateries are excellent, and art abounds. I’ll be sure to get him his annual T-shirt that says\u00a0Zion National Park\u00a0<\/b>to add to his collection. People always ask questions about Zion or comment on their visits there when we travel and they read Mike’s shirts.<\/div>\n
