Copper and Glass in Seattle<\/p><\/div>\n

Water, wind and fire; the energies that keep our world moving. Seattle brought home those incredible elements and their power on a recent visit. From the view above the clouds to the smell of the sea on the pier, Seattle is a unique and vibrant city. Our son and his girlfriend were gracious and patient hosts to our curiosity and tourist mode this summer.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a>

Museum of Glass Hot Shop<\/p><\/div>\n

The Museum of Glass,<\/em> in\u00a0Tacoma, held my interest for weeks before our visit. It proved to be a welcoming and informative experience. I don’t think I have the endurance to be a glass blower at this stage of life, but I so enjoy watching the dance. It is a rhythm that really can’t be choreographed, but has to be intuitively shared. The visiting artist we were fortunate to watch was John Miller<\/em> of the Pilchuck Glass School<\/em>, and the museum’s Hot Shop Team. You can watch the hotshop live Here<\/a><\/span>. I wrote about some of Preston Singletary’s glass\u00a0work that I had seen on another trip to Seattle\u00a0here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We enjoyed the exhibits at the EMP Museum. Our oldest son was a huge fan of Nirvana and Mike still enjoys their music. What a great tribute.<\/p>\n

I was mesmerized by the guitar exhibit, always a fan of the older ones.<\/p>\n

Pike Place Market<\/p><\/div>\n

Pike Place Market was lively and beautiful. Fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables abundantly displayed- music, and everywhere fresh fish, bakeries and the aroma of fresh roasted coffee.<\/p>\n

Dim Sum\/ Seattle<\/p><\/div>\n

We were treated to Dim Sum in Chinatown. What an experience! Delicious and incredibly unique from our Western perspective.<\/p>\n

\"Stained<\/a>

University of Washington Library<\/p><\/div>\n

The stained glass and architecture of the University of Washington, where our son\u00a0is a student, was an afternoon of awe in itself. We love books and this library was amazing.<\/p>\n

And to top it all off . . . they got me on this!!! I feel so adventurous.<\/p>\n
