Furniture Maker’s Magic<\/h3>\n

Mike’s been\u00a0a furniture maker for\u00a0many years. Some of his\u00a0prize pieces include Tables, Cabinets<\/a><\/span>,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and even a Pool Table.<\/em> I think he sees a piece of wood as a canvas. The grain and color tell\u00a0his hands to move this way and that, his eye to develop a shape or accent an area with copper or stain.<\/p>\n

Furniture Maker Mode<\/p>\n

I love the smell of the wood shavings when I walk into the shop. I see the care he uses sanding the pieces. I love the crisp change in the grain when he applies the stain, and I know he loves what he’s doing. There’s nothing finer than a craftsman who is in his element. A finished piece is one that will become a family heirloom. It’s a labor of love with quality and craftsmanship at the core of the design.<\/p>\n

This month Mike’s\u00a0building a headboard and fireplace\u00a0cabinet to coordinate with pieces in a return client’s\u00a0home. They appreciate the quality and care that he puts into his furniture, and they have been gracious to return often for their collection of Mike Made<\/strong><\/em> hand built furniture.<\/p>\n

This project was commissioned to go with the nightstands that Mike made previously, and the bookcase and fireplace woodwork that is already a personal\u00a0design statement in their home.\u00a0In the hands of a craftsman, wood becomes an\u00a0expression of values\u00a0and I am so fortunate to have a homeful of artistic expression from My Furniture Maker<\/em><\/strong> to enjoy everyday.<\/p>\n
