Repurposing the past<\/h3>\n

Antique tables were made for functionality. Mike saw possibility in an old sewing machine table he acquired years ago. That industrial sturdiness is timeless. No plastic parts here, just character and stories.<\/p>\n

The legs have their original patina. The drawers are squeeky, and the wood plank top he added is warm. The table is durable and inviting under the soft lights of the old enameled steel lamp.<\/p>\n

Seasonal Accents<\/h3>\n

At Christmas time we line the table with candles and poinsettias, or the traditional creche’. In Fall we use\u00a0small pumpkins or\u00a0dried fruit\u00a0from the garden in the center. Fresh herbs and flowers in summertime make the entry inviting.<\/p>\n

There’s a copper tray Mike made that is perfect for keys, or change for a quick toss from the pocket.<\/p>\n

When Mike said he found another set of legs just like ours, I knew something awesome would be created from them. This is the pieces being cleaned up in the shop yard. Now my curiosity is peaked, Is yours? I’m wondering what kind of table top will rest on these legs. It could be wood, copper, or galvanized steel. It could be accented with glass or embellished with stones. It may be repurposed for a kitchen island or set up to be a computer table, sofa table, . . . or even another beautiful, inviting entry table like ours.<\/p>\n
