Woven recycled copper<\/span> <\/a><\/strong>creates a feeling of free movement. It\u00a0looks as if it could wave in the breeze, much like the flag we fly proudly today.<\/p>\n

Woven Recycled Copper Strips<\/p><\/div>\n

The copper strips have been aging and acquiring character in the corner of the shop. They each tell their own stories about some past project; a custom order, a set of lights that traveled cross-country, a piece of art that mimicked our desert colors for\u00a0a colder climate\u00a0somewhere.<\/p>\n

This piece was rolled up in the “boneyard” and came to life with a cool spray\u00a0from the hose.\u00a0With all of the projects going on in the shop this summer, there will be\u00a0some interesting strips to add to the pile soon.<\/p>\n

Woven recycled copper square<\/h2>\n

The square is a simple form of “The Weave”.\u00a0You can read more about\u00a0that\u00a0HERE<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/a>. You can see the golds and reds of the copper that deepen with time. The deep umber of the hammered\u00a0texture resembles shadows in the canyons. Mike gave each “weave” a gentle curve that creates motion. You will appreciate this movement when you hang this copper art on your wall.<\/p>\n

Recycled copper is a true thing of beauty. It has so many different colors and textures hidden in its body. Copper is a living thing, and as a result, time turns it\u00a0to new works of art . . . over and over again. There are age-old and new techniques for bringing out copper’s beauty. Combining them allows an artist to be forever curious.<\/p>\n

Use Recycled Copper in Your Home<\/h2>\n

Your design possibilities are endless with copper in your home<\/strong>. Use it in it’s practical form with\u00a0lighting or counter tops. Shop for a vintage pan or vase. With this weaving technique, there are so many curious variations that can be achieved. I’m anxious to see what Mike comes up with next.<\/p>\n
