Demonstration at Trinity Lutheran School<\/p><\/div>\n

I recently had the privilege of demonstrating the art of stained glass for the students at Trinity Lutheran School in St. George. Kids are so awesome. They love something new and genuinely show curiosity in the process. The students at Trinity graciously listened and contributed to the experience.<\/p>\n

Principal Nyen had prepared a wonderful Power Point for me to use, explaining the chemical makeup of glass and how it is made. The older students related the information to their recent science studies, and that made the artistic aspect of stained glass even more exciting. The younger students were just plain wowed. Their teachers gave them a craft project to work on, creating “stained glass windows” from torn pieces of colored tissue paper and plastic wrap, while the older students watched me cut, foil, and solder a glass ornament.<\/p>\n

I hope to work with the students on a project of their own in the future. I was blessed to make the windows for the sanctuary upstairs at Trinity over the last few years, and would love to see a student made window included in the building.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
