Apricot Antlers<\/p><\/div>\n

This probably isn’t what you were expecting when you read “Apricot Season”<\/em> but, believe me it is totally relevant. I am about to go to the neighbor’s to pick some apricots to make jam, and right inside the shop door sits this interesting reminder that I once had a beautiful, big apricot tree of my own.<\/p>\n

This knarly piece of wood resembling an antler IS our old apricot tree. The bugs took it’s life one season during a very long drought, and it stood in the garden for 2 or 3 more years; drying and baking in the sun, then Mike cut it down.<\/p>\n

Now the branches have taken on the form of beautiful antlers on a Faux Antelope Skull.<\/em> The skull itself is resin. But, that’s not the end of the story.<\/p>\n

Apricot Table Base<\/p><\/div>\n

The trunk of the apricot tree became a beautiful table that we use each weekend for the Downtown Farmer’s Market<\/a> in St. George. The trunk is the base on a cantilevered top, made from recycled flooring, with copper tubing bracing. That makes it easy enough for us to move quickly from the truck to the spot each week.<\/p>\n

Mike is a clever man, and never wastes a good piece of wood. The antlers can be purchased at our Etsy<\/a> shop, under “Artwork”<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n
