Copper Thunder-bird Light Sconce<\/p><\/div>\n

This copper light sconce is the pies-ta resistance’\u00a0<\/em>of light sconces. It’s so simple and so unique that it makes me smile. Mike has a great book collection; one on ancient petroglyphs. This is the Thunder-bird, apparently a symbol of strength in ancient cultures.<\/p>\n

Mike embossed the Thunder-bird\u00a0on a piece of copper representing a leather circle, patinaed it for depth and dimension, and then attached it to the copper sconce with “stitches” of copper wire.<\/p>\n

He liked this symbol so much that he made a copper coffee table with the Thunder-bird as its center and copper arrows to accent the legs of the table.<\/p>\n
