“Beauty and the Beast” is a good description for this table top process. The copper sheet is shiny and smooth when Mike begins the table top creation, then:<\/p>\n

The copper is heated with fire, beat up with hammers and mallets until it is gnarly;<\/p>\n

Flattened and rolled until there is a finish that will suit a tabletop.<\/p>\n

The outside pieces are cut and fitted;<\/p>\n

And the handmade nail heads are applied.<\/p>\n

The end result is a beautiful 8′ copper dining tabletop that is ready for service.<\/p>\n
