Stained Glass Windows at Trinity Lutheran Church

Altar Windows

We installed the last of 16 stained glass windows at our church, Trinity Lutheran, in St. George today. This project began in 2008 with the installation of the first window which we donated in memory of our son, Casey. Members of the congregation purchased the remaining windows; some in memory of loved ones, and some to the Glory of God.

We dedicated the windows on Thanksgiving day 2010. Pastor Manweiler and his wife, Nancy put together a beautiful photo bulletin, and created a complete 2011 calendar which was sold to raise money for the day school at the church, Trinity Lutheran School.

I was given the privilege of designing the windows and creating The Tree of Life that encircles our sanctuary. We are reminded in one of our Hymns, “O Blessed Spring” that: Christ enjoins each one to be, A branch of this life-giving Tree.

The original stained glass window above our altar, was created in the 70’s by the woman who taught me to do stained glass in 1980. I feel so fortunate to have my work represented with hers.

I love to worship in this space and remember days gone by when my little boys, now grown, worshiped there with me. I believe the last verse of the Hymn:

Christ, holy Vine, Christ living Tree, Be praised for this blest mystery: That Word and water thus revive, And join us to Your Tree of Life.
