Today we got up with the sun, rubbed our eyes, and headed out to the shop. It was shipping day for the huge chandelier Mike has been building for a client in Michigan.
It started with a steel frame built for us by a local company-D Ironworks. Mike covered the frame with his leather textured copper, and then sealed the bottom in silver mica.
The inner workings are just as detailed, and the whole piece took a lot of precision engineering and time.
For my part, loading and crating the beast was a challenge I won’t soon forget.
It’s been a crazy 3 or 4 months with some great jobs, and they’re coming together one by one. I see a vacation on the horizon.
What is your favorite way to wind down from work loads that go on forever? Do you get away or just put your feet up at home and breathe? We’d like to know.
