Inspired Art
Nature made the material, a curious thought made the art. There it is, that magical mystery that unfolds when Mike gets to work freely on his art.
These were two of my favorites. Completely abstract, but totally visible to my mind’s eye. A Solar Flare and an Elephant in a duststorm or Serengeti monsoon. I wrote more about them here and here.
Nature made copper art
Today I’m sharing a piece from our shop titled Negative on Steel Corrugated #1.
This piece has the movement of a honeycomb. It’s negative space contrasts the highlight of copper and the depth of raw steel. The corrugated copper reminds me of an old building, withstanding the winds and weather of time. Together they create an inviting piece of metal art perfect for hanging.
Artwork that reflects the colors of nature is calming. When the wheels of busy lives start spinning, it’s rewarding to come home to a space that relaxes and invites conversation. Nature inspires contemplation. Copper invokes warmth. Steel suggests strength, and these qualities become your focus when you pair the artwork with other natural materials; wood, concrete or a bold color on the wall.
Now, imagine this simple copper and steel light sconce on that same wall. An accent that looks like it was just made for your artwork.
Together these two unique pieces make your personal design statement. You love nature, you love gatherings and conversation, and you welcome not only your guests, but yourself to an incredible, inspired space.
