A rose is a rose . . . but not this one! For my 50-something birthday, Mike made me this beautiful copper rose. Yes! He made it. I am still amazed and in awe. It is the most beautiful recreation of nature I have ever seen, down to the leaves. It is difficult for me to shape paper into a flower form; my fingers struggle to grip, my eyes don’t see as clearly, how on earth did he do this with copper?
I have watched Mike hammer, torch, and manipulate copper with power and muscle, wondering how he can create the intricate pieces he does in massive forms, but this is a completely new puzzle that really intrigues me. I absolutely love it.
