This copper light sconce is the pies-ta resistance’ of light sconces. It’s so simple and so unique that it makes me smile. Mike has a great book collection; one on ancient petroglyphs. This is the Thunder-bird, apparently a symbol of strength in ancient cultures.
Mike embossed the Thunder-bird on a piece of copper representing a leather circle, patinaed it for depth and dimension, and then attached it to the copper sconce with “stitches” of copper wire.
He liked this symbol so much that he made a copper coffee table with the Thunder-bird as its center and copper arrows to accent the legs of the table.
These two pieces are in our private collection.
